Egyszer régen, a Hargita erdejében Kányádi Sándor mackóval találkozott. Életre szóló cimboraságot kötött Ambrussal, és egy tükröt adott neki ajándékba. Mi lett a tükör sorsa? A nyuszi hogyan kergette el a rókát és miért nem ijed meg már a saját tükörképétől? Az erdő lakóinak életéből és a tükör fordulatos történetéből mesefüzér válik, s amikor az erdei Mézünnep alkalmából az író helikopterrel ismét visszatér a barátaihoz, megtudhatjuk például azt is, hogyan lesz egy medvéből borbély?
