Mi történik, ha egy pedáns, pánikbeteg, hipochonder, elviselhetetlen természetű nő és egy életvidám, szétszórt, rendetlen nő összeköltözik? Mindezekre a kérdésekre választ kaphatnak az előadásból.
A Furcsa Pár Neil Simon klasszikusa, melyet Walter Matthau és Jack Lemon tett feledhetetlenné a mozivásznon, ez az előadás azonban a nők szemszögéből mutatja be a történetet. Az eredeti pókerpartit társasjáték váltja fel, csupa női résztvevővel – innen késik Florence, a hipochonder hősnő, mert a férje válni akar. Barátnője, a régen elvált Olive felajánlja, hogy maradjon nála… és kezdetét veszi tűz és víz harcának fergeteges komédiája.

A century ago, the world first encountered this remarkable opus, a work that soon became one of the cornerstones of twentieth-century musical innovation. Premiered in 1926, the singspiel is a milestone in Hungarian music history: its composer, Zoltán Kodály, fulfilled his aspiration to elevate Hungarian folk song of ancient origin to the same status as classical music, by virtue of its equivalent values, placing it on the stage of the nation’s Opera House.
