MOTYÓ KIRÁLY BIRODALMA
Motyó király nem volt jó, de rossz se volt talán.
Halomnyi tárgya tornyosulva áll az asztalán,
fiókok mélyén száz rekesz sok kincset rejteget,
szelence, zsák, doboz mi mindent eltemet!
Motyó király csak gyűjtöget, van annyi cucca,
hogy tele a háza meg az utca,
ezernyi limje-lomja súlya nyomja vállait,
nehéz helyet találni nála itt.
Ám hopp, hiába kéri mindenütt: zavarni nem szabad,
magánya mégis egy nap váratlan megszakad,
hisz érkezik egy nagy csibész,
személyét nyílt titok takarja,
s a helyzet, ahogy most kinéz,
úgy fordul, miként azt ő akarja.
Motyó királyunk megremeg: ez kárhozat vagy áldomás?
Birodalmába, nincs mese, beköszöntött a változás…

Set in the Roman Empire around 74 BC, Spartacus was László Seregi's first true full-length ballet, which at one stroke became a milestone in Hungarian dance life. Since 1968, one generation after another has enjoyed the historically themed choreography, which treats the story of the ancient slave revolt in such a way that its true message is not the rebellion itself, but rather human emotions and choices under pressure.
