Utóbbi Georg Ernst von Hofmann A varázshárfa című melodrámájához 1820 nyarán írott zenéjének legnépszerűbb része a C-dúrban írt nyitány volt - ebből született három évvel később a Rosamunda-nyitány. Mahler utolsó befejezett szimfóniájának ősbemutatóját már csak a szerző halála után több mint egy évvel, 1912-ben tartották. A négy tételből álló mű lassú (Andante) tétellel indul, s egy tánctétel és egy Rondó - Burleszk után szintén lassú (Adagio) tétellel záródik.

This ballet's plot is inspired by The Corsair, a famous verse written in 1814 by Lord Byron, who towered over an entire generation of English Romantic poets.
For the 14th time, the performance of the famous Symphony No. 9 will dominate the OPERA’s New Year celebrations. In 2027, the programme will be completed by two further classical works: Beethoven’s overture, also enhanced by Mahler, and a cello concerto by Haydn, the latter of course featuring an OPERA soloist.
