Útja során különböző állatokkal találkozik, akik az élet értelmére feltett kérdésére más és más válaszokat adnak, de abban közösek, hogy mindannyian a saját életformájukat dicsőítik. Olykor kedvesen, néha erőszakosan próbálják rávenni a világban járatlan mackót: kövesse őket. Mackó azonban tovább és továbbmegy, egészen addig, amíg meg nem találja azt, aki már régóta várt rá, és akit ő is keresett.
