Péterfy-Novák Éva majd minden orvostól azt a diagnózist kapta, hogy kislánya a születés során vált súlyosan mentálisan sérültté. A kislány hét évvel élte túl a diagnózist, édesanyja pedig harminc évvel a történtek után döntött úgy, hogy blogbejegyzésekben megírja együtt töltött éveiket. A megrázó őszinteségű blogból könyv született, a könyvből pedig színházi előadás.
Mácsai Pál a könyvről ezt nyilatkozta: „Minden élet impozáns, ha őszintén mesélik el. Ez a könyv hű tükre a valóságnak. Se letenni, se elfelejteni nem lehet.”
Az Egyasszony igaz történet az élet fájdalmas titkairól, amelyekről nem szokás beszélni. Tragikus és egyben felemelő példázat, melynek különlegessége, hogy bár a rettenetet beszéli el, mégis rendíthetetlen életöröm sugárzik belőle.

A century ago, the world first encountered this remarkable opus, a work that soon became one of the cornerstones of twentieth-century musical innovation. Premiered in 1926, the singspiel is a milestone in Hungarian music history: its composer, Zoltán Kodály, fulfilled his aspiration to elevate Hungarian folk song of ancient origin to the same status as classical music, by virtue of its equivalent values, placing it on the stage of the nation’s Opera House.
