Carmina Burana

About Carmina Burana
Orff’s Carmina Burana is one of the most popular and most-known musical composition of the 20th century which is based on a verse-codex of the 13th century. The opus of the German composer is a must for every choreographer and all the masters of the world have made their own Carmina Burana. This has a simple reason and the Dance Session of Miskolc National Theatre also set itself the objective of winning the many over to the art of dancing.  more

Attila Kozma made a dynamic, spectacular and popular choreography, in which the dance and the motion get the leading role. Orff’s opus is the hymn of the spring, wine, desires, the joys of life and tavern and his piece gives great opportunity for the expression of these themes in contemporary dance language in the special space of Hall Theatre.

Our offer

There are evenings when our Opera House cannot perform because rehearsals are ongoing on stage until the evening. There are audience members who can only afford to hear their favourite pieces with a discount. And there are works that, although very popular, cannot be staged every season due to the congestion of productions.

Béla Bartók Bluebeard's Castle

While the Fountain of Tears bubbles before him, Giray, khan of the Tatars, is lost in brooding. Just as the flow from the marble fount cannot be exhausted, his own sorrow will never diminish, either. The story of the Fountain of Bakhchisarai is set in motion by a romance recounting the reason for the khan's gloom.
