Pierre Brochant és unatkozó barátai szerdánként különös vacsorákat szerveznek: balfácán-vacsorákat. Mindenki hoz magával egy balfácánt, és aki győz, jutalmat kap. Pierre élete bonyolult. Pierre-nek hexensussza, problémás felesége, ezoterikus szeretője, félelmetes adóellenőre és szórakozott barátja van. Pierre milliomos. Tudják, bonyodalom bonyodalom hátán! De a legnagyobb balfácán címért sokan szállnak ringbe.
