Felesége, Alkésztisz az egyetlen, aki vállalja az áldozatot. Utolsó kívánsága, hogy Admétosznak ne legyen másik felesége. Alkésztisz meghal. Admétosznak pedig együtt kell élnie az istentől kapott
ajándékkal.
