Barbara Tartuffe, miután elvégzett egy elismert természetgyógyász iskolát Berlinben, és sikeresen kigyógyította magát súlyos gerincbántalmaiból, kiszáll a tolószékből és az emberek gyógyításának szenteli az életét. Hamarosan betegek százai keresik fel testi és lelki bajaikkal speciális egészségközpontját, majd átteszi székhelyét a Balaton-felvidékre, és egyik kedvenc tanulótársa házában folytatja áldásos tevékenységét. A család azonban fenntartásokkal fogadja ezt a különös, excentrikus, szinte magnetikus képességekkel bíró asszonyt.
De hát ahogy Barbara mondja: „Ahol az ellenállás, ott az út!”
