Allan Felix, a filmkritikus egy vergődő és szenvedő elhagyott férj. És amíg ő látványosan belemerül bánatába, addig barátai, Linda és Dick minduntalan azon fáradoznak, hogy Allan új társra leljen. És ezzel megkezdődik a szünet nélküli randevúk sora. De ahelyett, hogy belejönne, idegességében végül mindegyiket elbaltázza. Az ügyetlen randizó nagy segítségére van kimeríthetetlen képzelete is, amelyben meg-megjelenik Humphrey Bogart, és az ő számos tanácsa, története. Allan odaadóan hallgatja hősét, és már csak egy feladata van, hogy rájöjjön, mitől lesz egy férfi élete kudarcoktól mentes.

Once again, the laws of the gods clash: can paternal love save a lad who has violated the sanctity of marriage?
This ballet's plot is inspired by The Corsair, a famous verse written in 1814 by Lord Byron, who towered over an entire generation of English Romantic poets.
